We received wide critical acclaim with our controversial documentary on Fox Hunting, which premiered in Germany on ARD.
Fox Hunting is one of Britain’s oldest blood sports. It is legal. It's controversial and it is under threat.
Supporters claim it is an essential part of conservation, culling the animal to an acceptable level. Critics claim hunting a fox to exhaustion and then tearing it apart with a pack of hounds can never be acceptable.
Tony Blair has pledged to ban fox hunting in Britain. Whether the sport is banned or preserved, it is an issue of not only animals rights, but of geography and class that strikes as much at the divides of this country as its heart.
British filmmaker Keith Surridge goes behind the scenes to profile a sport steeped in ceremony and tradition, providing a valuable insight into the cultural and moral aspects of fox hunting today. Militant saboteurs attack the hunt and successfully put an end to the days 'sport'. The film includes disturbing and controversial footage of foxes being dug out and terriers at work.
